Neues Start-up: Susanne Prister gründet ein neues Unternehmen: last dress, so der Name des Start-ups, der gleichzeitig auch Unternehmensgegenstand ist. Mit ihrem neuen Label möchte die Innsbrucker Modedesignerin nämlich so vielen Menschen wie möglich eine stilvoll und schön gekleidete letzte Reise ermöglichen.

Es war ein trauriger Anlass, der die Modedesignerin Susanne Prister vor ein paar Jahren dazu brachte, neue Wege zu beschreiten. „Ich war auf der Suche nach einer schönen Urne für meine Mama, konnte aber einfach nicht die richtige finden. Es gab nur diese glatten, kalten Urnen, und so stellte ich mir die letzte Reise meiner Mama nicht vor“, erinnert sich Susanne Prister an diese schwierige Zeit. „Der zuständige Bestatter war sehr einfühlsam und wusste über meinen Beruf Bescheid. Also ermutigte er mich, selbst etwas Stimmungsvolles für meine Mama zu fertigen. Gesagt, getan….“

Susanne Prister möchte so vielen Menschen wie möglich helfen, die letzte Reise ihrer Lieben stilvoll und schön gekleidet zu gestalten. Dabei war ihr aber auch wichtig, dass die last dresses auf jeden Fall ressourcenschonend und nachhaltig hergestellt werden. Als Basis für ihre Arbeiten kommen für die Modedesignerin daher nur Urnen aus flüssigem Holz (ARBOFORM® & ARBOBLEND®) in Frage. „Das last dress ist sozusagen die Hülle, die über die Holzurne gezogen wird“, erläutert Susanne Prister. Auch diese Hülle besteht entweder aus recyceltem Stoff oder Papier, Filz-Seidenstoffen bzw. Seide oder anderen Naturmaterialien.

„Genau wie bei meinen Modekollektionen ist es mir hier wichtig, nur qualitativ hochwertige Materialien zu verarbeiten, die vollständig biologisch abbaubar sind“, betont Susanne Prister.

Kollektionen und Materialien

Zum Start des jungen Unternehmens bietet Susanne Prister sechs last dress-Linien an:

  • Cocon Urns – bestehen zu 100% aus Seide – entweder Dupion, Satin, Chiffon, vorzugsweise changierende Qualitäten, „denn durch die wunderschönen Changierungen (Schimmer) bekommen die Cocon Urns ein schönes Eigenleben im Sinne eines schönen Farbwechsels.
  • Handpainted Urns – hier wird reine Seide mit verschiedensten Techniken wie zum Beispiel der Reservierungstechnik oder der Shibori Technik handbemalt.
  • (Recycelte) Fabric Urns – bei dieser Kollektion werden recycelte, natürliche Stoffe wie Seide, Leinen und Baumwolle zu wunderschönen last dresses verarbeitet.
  • Paper Urns – hier werden aus recycelten und nachhaltigen Papiersorten in Flecht- und Falttechnik last dresses gestaltet.
  • Felted Silk Urns – dabei werden verschieden Seidenqualitäten miteinander verwoben. Auf diese Weise entstehen spezielle last dresses, die teilweise mit Crystals aus Glas veredelt werden.
  • Monochrome Urns – mit und ohne Dekor wie etwa mit Stoffherz oder Crystal-Kreuz.

Susanne Prister gab ihren last dresses auch eigene Namen wie etwa Duma, Gala, Liara, Melie, Tumai, Wiam, Stilla, Nalani oder Muzio. „Es sind Namen, die Ruhe, Stille und Frieden bedeuten. Sie kommen aus dem Hebräischen, Altgriechischen, Arabischen und Afrikanischen. So bedeutet zum Beispiel der hebräische-irische Name Liara Göttin des inneren Friedens bzw. Manoah (hebräisch) Ruheplatz, Ort der Ruhe.“

Die Produktion der Urnen findet in Österreich und Deutschland statt. Sie werden mit viel Liebe zum Detail und handwerklichem Geschick hergestellt und sind innerhalb von 7 bis 10 Tagen lieferbar.
