Es war im Jahr 1992, als Val Wecerka ihre Heimat verließ, um sich hier in Wien als Künstlerin niederzulassen. Aktuell sind die Bilder und Objekte der gebürtigen Bulgarin noch bis 5. Jänner 2023 im Rahmen ihrer Vernissage „High·Light“ im Plain Art in der Burggasse 47, 1070 Wien zu bewundern.

Die künstlerische Reise von Val Wecerka
Val Wecerkas Reise in die Welt der Künste begann am National Art College in Sliven, Bulgarien, wo sie Malerei und Textil studierte. Nach 3 Jahren an der Höhere Bundeslehranstalt für Mode und künstlerische Gestaltung in Wien wandte sie sich dann der Malerei zu und inskribierte an der Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien, die sie mit Auszeichnung abschloss. In dieser Zeit entstanden zahlreiche abstrakte und figurative Bilder sowie Wandteppiche, die Val Wecerka selbst gewebt bzw. geknüpft hat. Seit 2013 widmet sich die Künstlerin voll und ganz der abstrakten Malerei. Ihr Werk wurde zweimal für den bekannten österreichischen Strabag Art Award sowie in den Jahren 2016 und 2018 auch für den Aesthetica Art Prize in Großbritannien nominiert.
